Youth Work

Learning to Walk

Cornton Baptist Church was originally established as simply a Sunday School for children before it grew into a fully fledged Church. Young people have always been at the heart of the church's ministry.

It was with great excitement then that Duncan Cullens was appointed as our Youth & Community Worker in June 2016 to carry on the work of our previous worker, Ruth McCaig. His remit is to oversee all the youth ministry in the church, supporting all that currently goes on and also to find new ways to engage with the local young people.

Children and young people have always been at the heart of Church and we still run many activities for them. Our aim is for the young people learn what it means to be a Christian and to start the lifelong journey of following Christ.  We want to best equip the children for this, teaching them the foundations of how to live and walk as a Christian. On a Sunday we have a crèche, Explorers and Investigators (Sunday School) and Navigators, which meet during the morning service. The 3rd Monday of the month is Cookies and the last Monday of the month is our Movie Kids group. Every Tuesday night is Cross Sports and on a Wednesday evening CBC Kid's Club meets. Noah's Ark Parent and Toddler Group and Youth Cafe runs on a Friday. Distinctive meets every fortnight on a Sunday evening.

Everyone who works with the children in a leadership role has met the conditions of our Child Protection Policy and have been checked with Disclosure Scotland.
